How to Play MegaMillions?
MegaMillions is a pretty straightforward lottery game. There are two separate pools of balls (numbers) – white balls and gold balls. The players have to choose five different main numbers between 1 – 70 from the pool of White Balls, and the sixth Mega Ball number from the pool of Gold Balls. This Mega Ball number lies between 1 – 25.
Alternatively, you can use a random number generator (Easy Pick). Upon activating the Easy Pick option, the computer will automatically select five lucky random numbers from 1 – 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 – 25.
Prizes in MegaMillions Lottery
The jackpot winner in a MegaMillions lottery draw is the player who has matched all six numbers (five main numbers and one Mega Ball number) in that particular draw.
However, there are a total of nine winning levels in a MegaMillions lottery draw.

Jackpot Minimum $40 million
Match five numbers

Note that MegaMillions is perhaps the only lottery in the world that offers a prize even on matching one number. However, this one number should be the Mega Ball number.

Claiming the Reward
If you’re a winner, you will be informed of your winning via text message or on your registered email address. Depending upon the amount won, the operators will get in touch with you to describe the claiming process.
All winning prizes up to $50,000 can be claimed online. The prize money is automatically transferred to the winner’s registered bank account. Note that according to the law of India, the amount will have the tax deducted at source (TDS).
As for the jackpot winners, MegaMillions offers two methods of payment. You can either receive your winnings in a lump sum jackpot amount transferred to your bank account. Or you can choose to get an annuity (a fixed amount of money paid annually).
In the annual payment (annuity) method, the winner is paid in 30 graduated yearly installments. These installments will grow by 5% on the balance amount each year.
Note: It is recommended to preserve a copy of the front and back of the ticket for the record and for future reference. The payments are made within three or four after the draw has taken place.
What is Megaplier?
Any player taking part in the MegaMillions lottery can choose to use Megaplier by paying an additional $1. This option multiplies any non-jackpot prize winnings 2, 3, 4, or even 5 times, depending on the Megaplier number drawn.
After the main draw has taken place, a new number (Ball) ranging from 2 to 5, is drawn from a third pool. The winner of a non-jackpot prize, who has opted for Megaplier, will multiply his winnings by the number drawn of this third pool.
What is a Multi-Draw ticket?
If you want to play for more than one draw, then you can buy a Multi-Draw ticket. This ticket enables you to play for up to fourteen draws. In a Multi-Draw ticket, you will include a range of draw dates, instead of one draw date. This ticket saves you time, as you do not have to buy a ticket for every draw.
Do I have to match the numbers in the exact order drawn?
No. The numbers in a ticket are always printed in numerical order. These particular numbers are required to match the winning numbers, but not in the order in which they are drawn. You have to match the five numbers of your lottery tickets with the five white balls drawn in any order.
If I die before I receive all the payments from the MegaMillions lottery prize, will my heirs receive the rest of my prize money?
Yes. The payments are made to the winner even after his death. If a winner dies before the payments have been made, their heirs or successors get the remaining reward.
Is a MegaMillions Draw secure?
All MegaMillions draws are conducted under very rigid security systems.
For instance, all the draw machines and balls for each game are randomly selected and certified by outside auditors.
Each draw machine goes through a pre-drawing test series to ensure the randomness of the results.
All drawing equipment is securely maintained and has limited access to the outsiders other than draw officials.
What is Just the Jackpot offer?
Just the Jackpot offer is available to MegaMillions players at a ticket price of $3. By choosing it, a player is entitled to two chances of winning the grand prize.
However, any player choosing this option is then not eligible for the other lower-tier prizes. Also, the player can’t opt for Megaplier if he chooses Just the Jackpot offer.
What happens if I lose a MegaMillions Ticket?
MegaMillions organizers are not responsible for any lost or stolen lottery tickets.
You have to take care of your lottery ticket by signing at the back of your ticket(s). The lottery tickets can be termed as bearer cheques, and anybody can claim the prize if he owns a MegaMillions ticket.
Can I play MegaMillions from India?
